Project SURE RECYCLE

We are pleased to announce that the project SURE RECYCLE (Sustainable Recovery of Strategic and Critical Raw Materials from E-waste Touchscreens and Printed Circuit Boards Using Biopolymer-Based Magnetic Nanocomposites and Their Use as Electrochemical Sensors for Endocrine Disruptors in the Environment) has been successfully selected for funding under the 2025 Public Call for the Co-financing of Research Projects. The project will be led by our colleague Assist. Prof. Dr. Olivija Plohl.

The research project is expected to begin on 1 March 2026 and will run for three years. We look forward to addressing new research challenges related to electronic waste and exploring the potential to upcycle these materials into electrochemical sensors for detecting endocrine disruptors in the environment and to produce high-entropy alloys from recovered metals.
